Habits
The Peery Habits program includes assignments in three components: muscular, practical and musical.
- Students move at their own pace through the three levels.
- Lessons are passed off with a teacher when the student has completed and filled out a 5 day practice chart and the assignment is sufficiently prepared.
- Evaluations are held during the monthly Showcase and Share class. Private evaluations can also be scheduled at any time with the Master Teacher by contacting Missi at info@peerymusic.com
PRACTICING
The Peery System is goal oriented, not time oriented. It is very common for practicing to take longer during the first days of a new assignment and decrease as the assignment is mastered. Consistency in practice is key to a student’s success.
Enrolling at PPA is a commitment to practicing with your child or making sure your child practices a minimum of 5 days per week, 20 minutes per day (on average) for the Habits program. As the student progresses and reaches their goals their motivation and daily practice time will increase naturally.
In order to understand the program the practice partner must attend the first lesson and go through all stations with your child. If your child is in kindergarten it is required that you continue to attend and actively participate in all of the lessons.
