Guide Training
PPA students grades 6 and higher may enter the Guide Training program. Guide Training graduates are offered paid teaching positions at the academy. Guide Training is offered once per year during the summer quarter.
Fee: $100
Includes: Peery Habits Level 1 workbook, 8 sessions with Master Teacher

GUIDE TRAINING has been moved back 1 week!! It’s not too late to join. The first class is on JUNE 17 at 6:30 pm!!
If you can’t make the training this summer but are interested in becoming a Guide please email Thomas at tskousen@peerymusic.com. If we have enough interest we will form a Fall training class.
STEPS TO ENROLLING IN THE GUIDE TRAINING COURSE:
1) Find a student that you can teach during the Guide training course. Refer your student to www.peerymusic.com for information about the Peery curriculum and what they will be taught. Give your student a paragraph about yourself, your piano study experience, any competitions and performances you have done and any other information you think may be interesting to your student.

2) Have your student fill in the Guide Training registration form.
Note: the price paid to PPA is included in the form. You may also charge an additional fee to be paid directly to you for your teaching. You may alter the reg form to indicate any additional fees paid to you. Please consult with Thomas at tskousen@peerymusic.com for pricing advice.

STEPS TO BECOMING A PPA GUIDE:
1) Attend the PPA Guide Training Course
2) Observe 4 Habits classes with written observations that are turned into Christie Skousen
3) Read Suzuki’s book ‘Nurtured by Love’ and write a 1 page report on what you learned, things you liked and things you disagreed with
4) Serve as Practical guide for 8 classes as an intern with no pay. 4 of these classes will be observed.
5) Complete all certifications for Peery Habits Levels 1-3
