Absences and Makeups

MAKEUP POLICY
The Peery Piano Academy does not provide make-up lessons or tuition adjustments for student absences. However, by posting your absences students can swap one missed spot for another.

Habits Lesson Swap program
If you know in advance that you will be absent please post your absence on the Habits Swap Calendar.  If you are new to self-swapping, please read “How to use the Habits swap calendar” for instructions on how to do this. Your spot will then be open to other students and you can in turn take any available spot as a swap.

If a teacher cancels a lesson a make-up will be scheduled or a substitute teacher will be provided by the academy. Please take note of the academy holidays so you can plan around the breaks already provided (see academy calendar for specific dates).

Players Absences
There are no make ups for absences in the Players program. Players students are expected to get the assignment they missed and prepare it for the next class.

During Summer quarter Players students may attend an OPEN (not Out) Habits spots following the Habits swap procedures. These spots cannot be scheduled more than 48 hours in advance.

Mastery Program Absences
There are no makeup for lessons missed in the Mastery program. Students may arrange their own swaps by emailing other parents in the mastery program and letting Mrs Skousen know of the change.
