The minimum requirement is that you have a full sized keyboard (88 keys) with weighted keys (not touch sensitive only, but weighted).

Also, pianos can be rented for as little as $25 per month.

A parent asked me for some guidance in purchasing a metronome because she was “tired of snapping and slapping (her) thigh”.  I am sure there are several practice partners who feel the same way, so I thought I would post my advice here.

The old type of metronome doesn’t keep a very accurate beat unless it is completely level.  When shopping for a metronome, you want to find one with a dial (not a push button) to change the speed.  In addition, you want one that clicks and does not beep.

Several of our students have the Matrix MR 600 model and it is a good model.  You can purchase one at Matrix Metronomes.  Click here to go to their website and check them out.

If you find this metronome cheaper somewhere else, please leave a comment with the link or email Missi at info@peerymusic.com and we will post it for you.
