Musical Personalities

Through the Team Music Certification system students can become certified and work towards being named Student of the Year in the following musical personalities:

Giving

Sharing

Finding

Maestro

Students earn points by completing and documenting activities specific to their Musical Personality. After points are turned in, students may be asked to present their work to the director to confirm its completion (i.e. Sharing students may be asked to play, for the director, the pieces they have learned by ear, or sight read for the director.

All documentation must be presented in a 3 ring binder. Points will not be counted if documentation is not well organized and/or hard to understand. Binders are due in April (see Academy calendar for details).

TM Certification

Students may earn their TM Certification by completing and documenting activities specific to their Musical Personality. Students receive a colored band at the completion of their first 100 points. Every 100 points thereafter they receive a token to add to their band. Upon completion of the tenth and final level, students earn their Master Band. Points earned are cumulative from year to year.

Student of the Year

Student of the Year will be awarded in each of the musical personalities to the student who earned during the current year. Student of the Year winners will be announced in May at the Team Music Festival. Each Student of the Year will receive a cash award and commemorative plaque.
