Jessica competed in the CAPMT Honors auditions this past weekend and came away with 2nd place in her division. This is a very advanced competition with high expectations.
In working with Jessica to prepare for the competition, the big difference in her preparation and ultimate performance came when she buckled down and practiced following the Basic Full Chart steps exactly. She didn’t modify them or leave any of them out. Her progress was tremendous when she did this and the resulting performance was amazing earning her a top prize.
Way to go Jessica!
This Saturday a few of our students were invited to perform at the opening social of the Kurosawa Duo Piano Foundation held in San Jose. Students Hazel S, Christien S and Anne B gave excellent performances of the ensemble pieces they have been preparing for the upcoming ensemble festival August 29.
The kids received so many compliments from the audience members and were the youngest performers on the program.
TheKurosawa Piano Music Foundation strives to educate the young artists and the community with focus on the piano ensemble music by hosting a variety of piano duo music education classes.
